Sectronics is what happens when more than three decades of field integration experience meets the decision to stop accepting poorly thought-out products as normal.

The founder
Thirty years installing technology
before building it.
Joe Longo founded Safeguard Security Group and has spent more than three decades advising, designing, integrating and supporting security technology in real commercial, government, healthcare and critical environments.
Sectronics takes that field experience into a different challenge: developing off-grid power, communications and mounting infrastructure that is easier to install, flexible to configure and built with proper protection.

Sectronics did not begin
two months ago.
The original plug-and-play concept
The early model made commercial security technology more accessible through programmed equipment, support and reduced installation complexity.
A race to the bottom
Online price competition reduced sophisticated technology to headline price alone. That was not a meaningful future.
A real project changes the direction
A purchased solar surveillance system arrived expensive, poorly documented and incomplete, requiring additional hardware and significant onsite re-engineering.
Build better systems
Instead of accepting that experience, the team revived Sectronics around locally developed off-grid power, communications and mounting platforms.

The bigger realisation
We are not building
solar CCTV poles.
CCTV is one connected technology. The real engineering problem is dependable off-grid power, communications, protection and mounting.
Once the platform is viewed that way, the possibilities expand into access control, electric fencing, roads, traffic, telemetry, remote communications, agriculture, sensors and custom industrial applications.

are the people building it.
Sectronics is a small, hands-on Australian team. That means direct access, direct accountability and no distance between the product promise and the people responsible for delivering it.
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Joe Longo
Joe brings more than 30 years of hands-on security technology, systems integration, consulting, programming, networking and project delivery experience to Sectronics.
His role is to turn real field problems into practical product and platform decisions.
DIRECTOR, PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & TECHNICAL OPERATIONS
Matt Fidler
Matt works hands-on across product development, fabrication, fit-up, technical assembly and the practical refinement of Sectronics systems.
His electrical, electronic, construction and maintenance experience helps keep product ideas grounded in how they must work in the real world.
Hands-on
We measure, assemble, test and refine rather than handing the idea away and hoping it works.
Direct accountability
There is no distance between the sales language and the people responsible for the product.
Locally connected
We work through Australian suppliers and local fabrication partners wherever practical.
Prepared to say no
If a configuration is unsafe, unstable or not commercially sensible, we reject it.
What the name should mean

We do not remove important protection simply to make a quote look cheaper.
We are a growing Australian technology company, not a faceless multinational.
The platform is configured around the application rather than copied from a generic recipe.

From the founder
Experience is where Sectronics started.
Curiosity is where we’re going.
I did not restart Sectronics because I needed another business. I restarted it because I still love technology, I still enjoy solving difficult problems and I believe we can build products differently.
The goal is not to sell the cheapest box. It is to create a company that can keep learning, manufacturing and building useful technology long after the first Solar CCTV system.
